A warm greeting to all Sai devotees. In this article let's walk through the holy place, 'Shirdi' to observe 'When' Sai baba lived there 'and Then' how it got modernised.

Important places of Shirdi 

1. Samadhi Mandir

2.a Dhuni: Fire place from where VUBHUDI -the sacred ash is collected.

2. b Holy pillar: Sai guided to worship it on the Guru Poornima Day.

3. Gurusthan 

This is the place where Baba's first public appearance in Shirdi happened. It is said that Sai baba did his meditation for many years under the neem tree, known as Gurusthan now.

5. Lendi bagh: Nanda deep 

2 neem trees planted by Baba with a lamp called the Nanda deep. 

Did You Know? Baba used to have biksha daily from only 5 houses. They are: 1. Bayaji Appa Kote Patil (in whose arms Baba passed away) 2. Bayajabai (Tatya's mother),   3. Vaman Sakharam Shelke, 4. Vaman Gondkar, and  5. Nandaram Marwari.

6. Chavadi 

Baba used to sleep a night in Dwaraka mai and another night in Chavadi. After Baba took ‘Maha Samadhi’ on 15th October, 1918, (Tuesday) at 2.30 PM, his body was laid on this wooden cot till 17th October, 1918 (Thursday). On the cot, his last bath was performed. Later the body was brought to Dagdi Wada (Samadhi Mandir).
